ÖZET

Bu arastirma, okul öncesi egitiminde, drama etkinliklerinin, bes-alti yas grubu çocuklarinin dil edinimine etkisini arastirmak amaciyla gerçeklestirilen deneysel bir çalismadir. Bu çalismada, özellikle çocuklarin kullandiklari sözcük türü, sözcük sayisi,cümle uzunluklari ve öbek yapilari incelenmistir.Bu arastirmanin çalisma grubunu Çukurova Üniversitesi Anaokulu'nun dört subesine devam eden bes-alti yas grubundan otuz alti çocuk olusturmaktadir. Uygulamalar öncesinde çocuklarin her birine, genel gelisimlerinin normal oldugu konusunda sistematik veriler elde etmek ve dil gelisim düzeylerini belirlemek amaciyla “Ankara Gelisim Tarama Envanteri ” uygulanmistir. Yaratici drama yönteminin etkililigini sinamak için bir deney, bir kontrol grubu olusturulmustur. Deney grubunda yaratici drama yöntemi kullanilarak dil etkinlikleri gerçeklestirilirken, kontrol grubunda düz anlatim yöntemine dayali dil etkinlikleri düzenlenmistir. Her iki grupta da etkinlikler arastirmaci tarafindan düzenlenmistir. Arastirmada deney ve kontrol gruplarindan uygulamalar baslamadan önce ve uygulamalarin bitiminden sonra ses kayitlari alinmistir. Her iki grupta da veriler ayni yöntem ile elde edilmistir.

Çalismada, dil edinimine yönelik yapilan yaratici drama etkinlikleri sonucunda çocuklarin bir bir sözce içerisinde kullandiklari sözcük sayisinin arttigi ve çocuklarin daha uzun sözceler kullandiklari; çocuklarin kullandiklari sözceler, sözcük türleri bakimindan incelendiginde çocuklarin kullandiklari sifat ve ad sayilarinda artis oldugu, çocuklarin kullandiklari ad öbegi ve eylem öbekleri sayisinda artis oldugu görülürken kullanilan eylem ve zarf sayilarinda bu artisin olmadigi, dil gelisimine yönelik yapilan yaratici drama egitiminin çocuklarin dil gelisimlerini etkilemedigi görülmüstür.

ABSTRACT

This research is an experimental study intending to find out the effect of drama activities on acquisiton of children aged 5-6. In this study, word classes, number of words, length of sentecnes and phrases that children used were investigated. The population sample is composed of 36 children at 5-6 attending 4 different classes at a preschool at the University of Çukurova. Before treatment, each child was given ‘ Ankara Development Scannig Inventory' in order to collect data regarding the fact that their developmental processes are normal and regular, and identify their language development level. In order to find out the effectiveness of creative drama, one experimental and one control group were designed. The experimental group went through the processes of creative drama activities, whereas the control group was exposed to only lecturing and traditional teaching approach. The activites in both groups were prepared and arranged by the researcher. In the study the voice of participants in both groups were recorded before and after the treatment. The data were collected with the same method for both groups. In the study, as a result of the creative drama activites carried out, it was found out that the number of words in an utterance that the children used increased, and the children used longer sentences, and the utterances the children used showed an increase in adjectives and nouns in terms of word classes. There was also an increase in using noun and verb phrases, while there was no increase in the numbers of verbs and adverbs. These findings suggest that the creative drama training had no effect on children's language development.
